LFC : Was Kenny right to criticize the players?

King Kenny lambasted his charges after a 3-1 league defeat against Bolton last weekend. Some criticized the King for being harsh towards his players and some agreed on his actions.

Personally, I would do the same if I were Kenny Dalglish. From a fan point of view the way they performed against Bolton was abysmal. The 1st goal was a shocker! It was only 3 minutes into the game and they just let 1 player to run straight towards Pepe Reina's goal. Not to mention the 2nd and 3rd goal. Unbelievable!

Unlike the previous games, I have been supportive of the lads as they were not lacking in commitments and effort. But against Bolton, all of the positive qualities were not there, not 100% though.
Some might say things could have been better if Lucas was playing. But that is the 'if' factor. We all know that Lucas won't be available until the rest of the season so no point in dwelling about that. We just need to soldier on without him and whoever is playing should show the same commitment as Lucas would have.

Kenny Dalglish is no stranger to world football and he is definitely no stranger to Liverpool FC. As a manager I would back him 100%. Would it have been different if it was Hodgson or Rafa who made a similar comments towards the players? I'd say they would have been as disappointed as Kenny in that sense.

Kenny is a winner and he is also a fighter. He will acknowledge if his players did great and he can tell if the players ain't doing the right thing. He might have not been in the management world for almost 20 years but that would not make him less compatible as the other managers in the BPL.

The fact is Liverpool is not doing so great in the league. But they are not that poor too. Remember, Liverpool FC is in a re-building process. No manager wants to lose are draw too many games. Maybe some might argue with the signings that Dalglish has brought in. And most of them is related to the price that the manager had paid to get these players. Henderson, Downing and Carroll. They do cost quite a sum of money.

The amount that Liverpool have spent does not justify the players performances so far. Focus would be on Henderson, Downing and Carroll. Carroll does not score as many goals as the fans hoped for. While Downing is still struggling with form. Henderson, he is still young and we can put him at Lucas's position 3 seasons ago.

I don't think these players have done that bad. The most disappointing player in my eye would be Charlie Adam. He's too slow and at times seen too sloppy with his passing. But I also think Adam can do better as he has shown in some games that he deserves to play for Liverpool.

I hope after the bashing from the manager the players will prove him and everyone wrong. Tomorrow will be the 2nd leg of the semi-final Carling Cup clash with Man City. This is the good time for the players to rise. If they play like how we know they could, I would not hesitate that we will go to Wembley.

Like Kenny said, now it is time for the players to lift the fans. It's going to be an explosive encounter. YNWA.
