2nd successive win for liverpool lift them to 7th in the league. has to be said that the performance against fulham was not the best but a win is still a win.
lucas was missing from yesterday's line-up due to an injury and poulsen starts. the team had a go on fulham's goal from the 1st whistle. torres had a goal disallowed in the first half but was ruled off-side. another bad decision from the officials i'd say?
they finally got the goal they were seeking from a torres shot that was unluckily was sliced into goal by a fulham defender. they hung on to the score until the final whistle for dalglish's 1st win at anfield.
fulham maybe felt they deserved a point but the liverpool defense decided to get stingy. like i stated earlier, it was not the best game by liverpool's standard and this was admitted by the gaffer. under the previous manager liverpool could have lost yesterday's game or the best maybe a draw.
as dalglish stressed from the very moment he took over as the manager, he needs to regain the players' confidence because they were non. he got the team to 'play' football. movement of the players has been better since he took charge. he believed that with hard work the reward should come sooner than they'd expected. and with a bit of luck. yesterday's game was definitely one of the days where luck had played its part.
liverpool will head into the weekend without any game. next is against stoke at home and after that to stamford bridge. one game at a time. with the king in charge, well i can say that the fans are dreaming something unthinkable earlier .... dare to dream ... YNWA !!!
