LFC: Suarez, Carroll and Torres

it was a very busy day for liverpool football club before the january transfer window closed yesterday. there were so many gossips and speculations that was spreading around. there were news saying charlie adam was coming together with warnock and ashley young.

by the end of the day liverpool fc managed to sell fernando torres to chelsea for £50million and got andy carroll from newcastle united for a fee £35million. previously liverpool had managed to secure the services of luis suarez from ajax for £22.8million.

all of the transfer activities that includes carroll and suarez has not really been the highlight for the liverpool fans out there because everyone was shock to hear that torres submitted a transfer request right after the club officially announced they got suarez.

liverpoolfc.tv the official website has been keeping it very quite until every deal was completed. and the rumors has been making the reds faithful eagerly waiting for the latest news whether torres stays or goes.

so many reactions from the fans to the news of torres leaving. it made some cried, some angry or some just accepted the news and carried on with it. the reds faithful always sees torres as the club's icon. he should be a red forever. torres could never be a red forever as we the fans wanted. first, he was a spaniard and he came from atletico madrid. that was his first love. he was their youngest captain at 19 and their talisman for many seasons. he left his first love and why should he have stayed with his second?

rafa benitez managed to lure torres from atletico madrid to come to liverpool with one catch. champions league. that was the whole idea. rafa to bring not only torres but as many players with the calibre of torres to liverpool for them to mount a serious challenge. that never really materialized. alonso left with some other better players as well. liverpool fc has never been able to have a decent squad to challenge for honors.

the closest liverpool got was to finish 2nd in the league on the 2008/09 season. then everything fell apart last season. maybe he already wanted to leave liverpool then but he was also focused on the world cup. we can assume that because torres stated in his first interview as a chelsea player that he wants champions league football.

he is now officially a chelsea player. all the best to fernando torres for his future and thank you for the goals and memories he gave as a liverpool player.

with the departure of our most dangerous striker we now have andy carroll and luis suarez. i can't wait to see them both wearing the liverpool jersey in action. i'm sure kenny already have an idea on how he wants the team to play with the latest inclusions.

this could mark liverpool's rise to get back to where its suppose to be. i'm sure once suarez and carroll starts to bang the goals in ... the fans will forget about torres. the king said "no one should be greater or above the club than the club itself". if everything goes well we might even see champions league next season and europa cup winners medal? who know ... YNWA !!

Bro, me think buying carrol for 35m pound is bad piece of business for unproven international who only scored 11 times in epl so far. To put that into perspective we paid 13m pound more than suarez who is proven international. I know we are buying british but here in malaysia we pay more for proton just because it is local car : ( For 35m pound i think we should make at least a run for more proven players not potential, kaka did cross my mind. On top of this carrol come with extra baggage in form of criminal record. Time will tell whether carrol is new torres or another aquilani! AMRAN ARIFFIN ps can't post using my email add!
