latest news from http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest indicates the fans that suarez passes medical. this means he is almost 100% a lfc player. however the latest inclusion has not been hitting the news among liverpudlians because of the transfer saga gossips about fernando torres.
it was reported that torres submitted a transfer request on friday evening which shocked the reds faithful all over the world. torres has been a darling to the liverpool fans because of his exploits on and off the field. the transfer request was rejected by lfc anyways.
reports have been circulating that should chelsea wants torres they should come up with an offer of £50m plus nicolas anelka. none of the reports came from lfc - officially. so i would presume all of this are only speculations.
there are maybe plenty of reasons why torres wants to leave lfc. he once voiced out his concerns that liverpool needs to buy 3-4 good world class players to compete for honors. this was when rafa was still the manager. nothing has been done.
rafa left mainly because there was no support from the owners, then came in hodgson. things became from bad to worst. there's a possibility that torres is feeling desperate. i still believe that he loves lfc. but he needs to think about his future. for a player of his stature he needs championship medals. there are two reasons why a player would want to leave a club. 1st is because he has achieved everything and wants a new challenge and 2nd is because he is feeling desperate that time is not on his side to achieve anything.
i'm sure kenny and maybe nesv is doing what ever they can to persuade torres to stay at least until summer. unlike H&G, john henry actually really studied liverpool football club. he knows what liverpool meant to the fans.
why john henry and nesv didn't appoint kenny dalglish earlier? well, they came in after H&G had already appointed hodgson last summer and it wouldn't be fair to the gaffer if he was replaced instantly. yes liverpool was not doing too great. but the owners thought that hodgson was at least to be given a chance to prove himself. things didn't improve and they didn't wait until the end of the season.
from the start of the season until kenny came in, we are not sure how many players have thought "i should leave this club during the january transfer window". we've heard rumors saying agger and johnson might leave.
then came in the king. the atmosphere changed instantly but i don't thing it changed the players thought about their future. and this is where the owners should do something to convince the players why they should stay with lfc. they brought in suarez. a players that has been in their radar for quite a while.
the transfer request came in just after we heard that liverpool and ajax has just reached an agreement on suarez's sale. from the players point of view, they might not be aware of this. so it is possible for torres to just submit his request. since the news where lfc rejected torres's request there have been no official statements from the club, kenny , other players or the man himself.
we still have a couple of hours before the january transfer window ends. until then lets just hope that torres stays. and who knows, with the king at the helm we the fans might see the most terrifying partnership in the barclays premiership history. if torres still decides to leave ... we will wish him the best of luck and thank you on what he had gave to all the fans - YNWA !!
