LFC : Poulsen, Jovanovic, and Aquilani

It is interesting what most of the fans thinks about Poulsen, Jovanovic and Aquilani. Commonly there will always be positive stuffs and the negative stuffs. Here is what I think about them.

Christian Poulsen
Liverpool FC announced the signing of Christian Poulsen  for a fee of  £4.5m, signing a three year contract from Italian club Juventus . At the age of 31 many regarded him as the a player who has already surpassed his prime. He was supposed to replaced the departed Javier Macherano to Barcelona but never made the grade. His overall below par performances plus he was brought in by Roy Hodgson somehow made him an automatic choice for not being the fans favorite.

He managed to get a few games under King Kenny where his performance was much better but at that point of time Liverpool was already struggling in the league. Obviously the manager needs someone better than him. Meireles and Lucas was performing and has become Liverpool's lynchpin at the middle of the park under Kenny.

It is reported that he might be living Liverpool this summer and has been linked to FC Copenhagen.

With the emergence of new youngsters such as Lucas, Jay Spearing and Jonjo Shelvy plus the likes of Raul Meireles and Steven Gerrard I don't see how Poulsen can claim a regular place in Liverpool's midfield.

Milan Jovanovic
Another player that was touted to have a bright future at Liverpool after his fine performance for Serbia in the FIFA World Cup 2010. He was signed on a free transfer by manager Rafa Benitez.
He is known for his speed and his ability to take on defenders but he never manage to stamp his mark in the team and in the English league. He's much deployed as a left-sided player during Hodgson's time but didn't leave much impact.

Recently reports have been stating that Jovanovic is un-happy at Liverpool and wants out. Things never improved much even after Kenny took over. I expect him to leave during the summer.

Alberto Aquilani
This is the only player that I believe could have a future at Liverpool. Currently he is on load to Juventus and has been playing well.   He has managed 29 appearances for Juve this season and has performed tremendously for the them.

Signed for £17 million for 5 years, he came to Liverpool with an injury that limited his appearances. He never managed to gain full fitness level and this made life difficult for Aquilani. A good attacking midfield player and maybe useful to Liverpool if he does come back next season. I can see him having a good understanding with our own number 7, Luis Suarez where they can switch roles during a game to partner Andy Carroll.

I can see Gerrard and Lucas playing deep while having Aquilani playing just behind Suarez and Carroll. With his creativity I'm sure he has much more to offer.
