LFC : Kenny 'spot-on'

A 2-0 away win at Emirates marked Liverpool's first win this season. Goals from Aaron Ramsey (o.g) and Luis Suarez made sure that Kenny's men are second in the table after 2 games.

A few surprises were sprung by manager Kenny Dalglish when he started Suarez on the bench and gave Dirk Kuyt his 1st start of the season. Kelly also started at right-back.

Arsenal however started with Nasri, who was the next player (expected) to leave after the transfer of Cesc Fabregas to Barca earlier in the week. Injuries and suspensions made life more difficult for Wenger to name his best 11 against Liverpool FC.

There were improvements on how the guys started the game after the disappointing draw at Anfield last weekend and credit to Arsenal, considered to be a depleted side never gave up easily too. They were dealt with a blow after 15 minutes of play when Koscielny had to leave the game due to an injury. The 18 year old Miquel was given the nod and coincidently it was his flick in an attempt to clear the ball out from Arsenal's penalty box which ricochets off Ramsey that went in for Liverpool's 1st goal.

Andy Carroll was lively and was unlucky not to score when his header was saved by Szczesny after a fine cross from Downing. He worked tirelessly and I can say he is getting better and better. It's just a matter of time before he starts to score himself.

Another new signing ~ Adam also had a fine game in midfield where he almost scored when he did an 'Alonso' in the first half. But it was Henderson that caught my eye with his steady performance. Expectations are high on him from the fans and not many are happy with his contribution. Henderson is still young and he is at a new club with new friends. Given time he will be much better. His 90% rate of pass completion is something that we need to take into consideration.

Lucas 'the Boss' as usual never lets me down. Again he was the 'key' in mid-field and it seems that he is playing as though Arsenal had their strongest team on the field, making timely challenges and his positional play that made it tough for Nasri and Co.

Another player that is worth mentioning was Enrique. Only in his 2nd game and he has already won the Koppite hearts. He practically made Walcott invisible for the whole game.

Liverpool ended the 1st half with the score 0-0. The goal only came after 77 minutes of play but there was no sign of anxiety among the players. Unlike last week the players kept working hard and kept a cool head. Liverpool might be 'lucky' when Frimpong was sent-off for 2 bookable offense but even if he stayed on I had faith that the goal would come eventually.

It's a debatable point when people would say "Liverpool won because Arsenal was a depleted side and they had to play with 10-men". I have to dis-agree with that. Arsenal are a strong side. This was proven in the first half when they held the score 0-0 at HT and had their fair share in troubling Pepe Reina. Also Emirates is a difficult place to play. Liverpool had the same situation against Arsenal last season. Kenny had to re-shuffle his defense when Aurelio was injured during the game and he had to bring in Jack Robinson.

Kenny had it spot-on when he brought in Suarez and Meireles to replace Kuyt and Carroll. With the tiring players on the field the two super-subs turned the game into Liverpool's favor.

The gaffer himself admitted that he got it wrong last week when he started with Suarez and he was sure not to make the same mistake this time around. It proves to be a master stroke when Suarez scored his 2nd goal in two games.

This also showed us how strong our bench now. Kuyt and Carroll are two quality players and to replace them with another 2 top players says much about the depth in the squad. It will be beneficial to the team in the course of the season.

A win is a win and to do it at Emirates made it sweeter.
