LFC : Suarez, Gerrard and winning ways

LFC had a couple of 'bad' results; 0-1 lost against Stoke and 0-4 bashing against Spurs. Some may start to question Kenny's decisions on these games. Although I didn't manage to watch both games, it was clear that there were doubts amongst the fans.

Doubts on Kenny's strategy, doubts on the new signings, doubts on whether can Liverpool put in a strong challenge this season?

I can understand the fan's frustration when results do not favor Liverpool's way. Nobody likes losing. I'm sure if the fans were frustrated, the manager and the players will feel the same too.

The same time last year, we are in a much worst position. After 6 league games this season, we are 5th and 6 points adrift the leader pack, Man Utd. It's not bad at all. When Kenny took over, Liverpool were at the bottom half of the table and towards the end of last season he steered the team into 6th placing, nearly qualified for Europa League. Everyone was happy.

Kenny bought 7 players in Suarez, Carroll, Henderson, Doni, Adam, Downing, Enrique and Bellamy to make the squad stronger. Suarez & Carroll came in during the January transfer window and haven't done too bad at all. Suarez have been a revelation so far. It's clear that since his arrival the fans are already forgetting about Torres who left for Chelsea and at the same time is able to lift up some burden that has been carried by the talismanic Steven Gerrard.

Suarez, has scored 4 league goals thus far. I'm sure he'll bag in more in the course of the season. Obviously he has become an important figure for the Reds. Unlike the other new comers, they are still adjusting the their new environment and hasn't been able to give more consistent performances.

The Uruguayan also is winning the hearts of the fans with his attitude on the field. His passion for the game is immensely shown in every minute of his playing time. His sublime skills, his 'never-say-die' attitude and his goals is all a joy to watch. I have no doubt that he will be as big as Kenny Dalglish at Liverpool.

The return of Steven Gerrard after 6 months lay-off is definitely a massive boost to everyone. Some might say his best days are behind him. I think he still have more to offer to Liverpool as a Captain. Stevie has been carrying the team on so many occasions. Istanbul 2005, FA Cup 2006 and many more.

The King brought in quality players and with Steven's leadership 'brains' on the field it is a matter of time before everything starts ticking.

Although Stevie G is an important player, the King does not want to rush him too soon. Gerrard will be given time to get back into the Premier League pace and by the time he is ready it will be explosive. Kelly Martin, the young full-back has already expressed that how important to the team to have the Captain back in the team. Although he only starts from the bench for the last 2 games, it lifted everyone.

After the disappointment at White Heart Lane, it was important for them to get back into winning ways. Two consecutive 2-1 wins against Brighton and Wolves was a good response. It also proves the King's sentiments on why they need to work together as a unit after some bad results.

Two crunching games coming with an away game - Merseyside derby this Saturday before entertaining league leaders Man Utd at home the following week. It is important to get good results but the most importantly to be able to finish in the top 4 at the end of the season. No point winning the next two games against our fiercest rivals but to falter in the other games.

I'm pretty sure the King and his men already have a road-map to success this season. And what ever he does, I as a fan will always trust his judgement.
