LFC : It has to be for the rest of the season

15th October 2011 will be the most awaited day for the fans as Liverpool FC will welcome Man Utd to Anfield for their first league clash this season.

For the past few days I have been listening to the 'pundits' on TV and most of them are saying that Liverpool do have a chance to win. Of course as a fan I do want Liverpool to win! Furthermore, it will be against Man Utd.

Both teams recorded a win in their last league fixtures prior to this coming game. United won against Norwich and Liverpool won the "Merseyside" derby. So both are in a good winning 'mood'. But, like previous seasons, when it comes to Liverpool v ManUtd little can we take from the 'current' form. It will be an advantage ~ psychologically of course. It is more precise on who performs better on match-day and its hardly based on current form or previous games results.

News on whether captain Steven Gerrard is still vague. I'm sure Alex Ferguson will not only worry about Stevie G, he has the whole team to worry about this time around. Being Sir Alex himself, he sure knows how the Liverpool team will perform under King Kenny and he will have to find a way to counter this.

Based on last season, since King Kenny came back, Liverpool have been performing better. Yes Man Utd won twice, but SAF will have to admit they were 'lucky' to have won the FA Cup tie at Old Trafford. Bad decisions from the referee made it all possible for them and it was Liverpool who performed better on that day. Kuyt and Suarez later demolished at Anfield.

The motivation for Liverpool to beat Man Utd is more now since they took over the 19th League Champions title. And with new additions made by the manager the Reds are a stronger team compared to last season.

The only thing that they need to improve is 'consistency'. Winning ONE game against Man Utd is one thing, but being consistent enough to win the other games that matters most. Only then, we can tell them that we are better than them. It will be great if we can brag about the win on Sunday morning, but the feeling of being better than them at the end of the season is price-less!

I'm calling for all Liverpool fans out there, whatever the outcome of this Saturday's game, let us all keep on giving our 120% support to the team to win as many games as they can. I want to brag ! I want to smile! I want to be able to tell Man Utd fans that Liverpool FC is the best team in the WORLD!! Not on Sunday morning, but I want to be able to do it at the end of this season.
