LFC : Pre-season thus far

Liverpool FC completed their Asian 2011 tour with two wins. Against Guangdong SC and the Malaysian national team.Scored 10 goals and gave away 6 goals. As far as 'pre-season' mode I'd say it was good results. The players had to travel and the condition was not ideal for them. But it'll be good as they are preparing for the new challenge in the Barclays Premier League soon.

Last Saturday they were beaten by Hull, 3-0. Although it is another friendly but we can't take this lightly as Hull will not be competing in BPL and we also had our new boys making their debut. Henderson, Downing and Doni were given a run out by manager Kenny Dalglish.

Dalglish himself was not too happy with the result and how the boys performed. Looking at the bright side, we lost in another friendly during pre-season and not losing the first league game of the new season.

Evidently, this is still 'work in progress' for Dalglish and his coaches.

We still have Gerrard, Agger and Johnson on the side-lines. Pepe himself just returned from his injury and joined the others for training yesterday. The new boys are still 'adapting' with their new environment and vice versa. Lucas and Suarez has not joined the others due to the Copa America commitment. So I'm saying things will get even better with the lads coming back into the now already 'big' squad.

League will be starting in less than 2 weeks. Dalglish have to sort things out quickly especially in the defensive department. 9 goals allowed in 3 games is not good. Defensively the team is still fragile. The league is getting tougher with each passing year. Every team is improving and the boys have to work even harder to make sure that they will win the first game. Winning the first game is always important as it will give the lads a good account of themselves for the coming games.

Hopes are high among the fans that Liverpool FC will do well this season. With Kenny leading the team, I believe that LFC will mount a serious challenge this year.
