League form and Comolli

Three bad results, 2-3 away lost against QPR, 1-2 home defeat against Wigan and a 0-2 away defeat to Newcastle. These losses practically ended Liverpool's hope to finish as high as fourth and qualify for next year's Champions League. That's how I see it.

As a fan I am disappointed as the expectations were so high. With the new owners coming in, the return of the King and the addition of new players. But I have to accept the fact that at times things will not go as we planned or as how we had wished.

In regards to the team's current position in the league and their form it never really deterred me from keeping my faith in them. I will be sad and disappointed this week but all geared up for the next game.

We were in dire of a good result. Liverpool's main culprit is they can't convert their chances that they have created. And for some reason luck is not tailing them as well plus at times we did not get the right call from match officials.

I am not trying to give excuses. Those were some of the factors that contributed the the bad results. Others would have to be to the players attitude during the game or tactics used by the King himself.

At Liverpool Football Club, expectations will always be high. Everyone, especially the fans can't really accept anything less than nothing. Basically, in the league, we have to be the champions, in cup competition, we have to be number 1.

The last time we won a cup was in 2006. Then we only came close to become the league champions only to be overtaken by Man United.

When Kenny came back everyone was smiling and talks about being champions again or getting back into the champions league was inevitable. Instantly the expectation shoot up to the sky and Kenny was the man that we hope to bring back the glory days.

But everyone forgot that Kenny is a footballing man. He is not a magician. Yes he said our target will be finishing at least 4th in the league. But I never remembered him telling the fans that he will secure the league cup or going into the semi-finals of the FA cup or did he?

Well the only setback this season was our league form. We have so consistently being inconsistent and so far it has put to where we are at the moment. But we cannot deny that the team can play a very good game of football. And they have done it a couple of times against good teams. They just can't seem to retain the level of performance week-in week-out.

Yes Liverpool bought new players, yes we have a good manager in Kenny Dalglish, yes we have new owners that looks more committed to the club. But we also have to remember that other teams are doing the same every year, which is trying to improve. And teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City, they have something extra that I called 'continuity'. Liverpool do not have that. We are a 'brand new' team. That means we need time.

We all know how good Kenny was. But how many of us will think that the first time he became the manager he already have a good squad. This squad have been playing together for a couple of years and they know each other really well.

When Kenny was offered the job for the second time, firstly he has been away from managerial world for so long. And he was left with a group of people that can play football and plus Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Jamie Carragher. Torres eventually left which made it more difficult for the King.

First, he has to bring back the confidence among these so called professionals. Secondly, he has to earn the fans trust and support, which for a club like Liverpool it's not easy. Third, he needs to familiarize himself with first hand management again. He's a little bit rusty. He should be shouldn't he?

Whatever it is, I am convinced, Kenny will be more polished and Liverpool will be a wee bit stronger next season.

The news of Comolli leaving Liverpool after 17 months at the club was a shock. I'm not really a fan of him, but if he is willing to change Liverpool's luck I am willing to give him the chance to do so. But it is clearly and evidently shown by the owners that that was not the case. I strongly believe he was asked to leave but the official statement was on the contrary where Comolli wants to leave. I guess we'll never know do we.

He's gone now and we just need to focus in the remaining games for this season. Next will be FA Cup semi-final. I'm convince that our cup form will carry us all the way to the final. On the league form, after our win against Blackburn, I hope the boys can just carry on to win the other games and try to get maximum of 3 points that are still available.
