It's not meant to be

Losing to Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley really sums up Liverpool's season. A game that many fans hoped Liverpool to succeed. Liverpool didn't really play well until after Andy Carroll came in.

Personally I do think Liverpool were slow to get off the block. Chelsea never really looked dangerous for the whole 90 minutes but they took their chances superbly. Enrique is to be blamed for Chelsea's 1st goal. I felt he could have handled the situation better. He knew it was his fault and this somehow affected his overall performance during the final game.

He looked very uncertain and he was way low on confidence. I noticed how Agger was so close supporting him every time Chelsea brings the ball down to the left-hand side.

Spearing was another lad that never managed to stamp his mark. He never really got it going and he was later replaced by Liverpool's goal scorer Andy Carroll. As for Hendo and Downing, they did just 'ok'. Downing could have been better as it was because of his challenge that gave Carroll the chance to score the only goal.

Credit to Chelsea though with the 2 well taken goal and to the way they defended it from Liverpool's onslaught during the second half. They had more experienced and more cool heads compared to Liverpool on that day.

Liverpool lost the final to a better team. But I also feel there's lots of promise from the Liverpool youngsters. Henderson, Carroll, Spearing will use this season's experience to grow up and come back better and stronger next season.

It could have been better, ending the season 8th (LFC still have 2 league games to play when this was posted) in the league and with 2 cups to show to the fans. Unfortunately the lads only managed to win 1 cup. Well, I still consider Liverpool's season was not that bad at all.

After the lost now there's talk to replace Kenny Dalglish. Well this I don't agree. I think KD is doing a good job at the club. The most influential players at his disposal are either injured or they have passed their prime glory days.

Liverpool's way of playing the game has improved leaps and bounds. But result wise, it has not been so kind to the club. Hopefully the players learned this. I believe they do know that lesson is learned. They will take this year's experience and bring it to next season. With maybe a summer signing, KD can prepare a stronger and better squad for next year.
