LFC : Forget about Manchester United and forget about our past

Manchester United, here we come!

After a successful derby last weekend we are going to meet Man Utd at home after the international break. Like previous seasons it's going to be another massive fixture and I'm sure there's going to be plenty to talk about before and after the game.

United currently is the team to beat. After beating us for the 19th time league champions, we are no longer the best. We have to accept that!

1990 was the last time Liverpool become the Champions of England and that's it. It has been Man Utd all the way from there on. Their fans have the right to boast about their team because they are doing well. Even when they are not performing up to their standard they somehow managed to gained the desired results.

What have we won so far? Our recent success was only the 2005 Champions League and 2006 FA Cup. For a club with a great tradition and so many honors we as the fans keep on talking about what we have achieved. There's nothing wrong to look back at the past and be proud of it but we need to be looking at the future as well.

Since the King's return he has been saying that in order for Liverpool Football Club to get back to where they belong 'we' need to be working together as a 'team'. Be it from the players, the management, the back-room staffs and also the fans. And no one is bigger than the club itself.

From the top, owner John W Henry definitely has a plan, the manager, Kenny, we don't need any introduction about him, it is obvious he wants to bring Liverpool to the top. We have the players, who as a professional football players, surely wants to win honors. All the ingredients are there but we are still missing 1 more. The fans, yes it is us. What can we do to help the club to win honors again? We have to support whoever is associated to the club all the way. 110% support!

This season is going to be the most important season for Liverpool FC. We have been saying that for seasons and nothing actually happened. The closest was when we finished second during the 2008/09 season. But that was not enough.

We just need to focus on the team. Forget about Man Utd and their fans. They will definitely brag about their success week in week out. Just ignore them and lets give out support to Liverpool FC win, lose or draw. Even if we beat United in 2 weeks time, we need to focus on the team until the end of the season. Like I said earlier, no point in us beating United, Chelsea or City but we falter against the lesser teams. To become league champions we need consistency. And that's what we as a fan need to do. Giving support all the way until the end of the season and hopefully cum May, we can brag about Liverpool Football Club again.
