LFC : What if ...

Liverpool so far had secured Seb Coates as the latest summer signing. With 5 more hours to go before the transfer window closes my mind starts to wonder ...
What if ...
What if Kenny Dalglish had not came back? What if Hodgson is still the manager of Liverpool Football Club?
Let's say everything is the same as what we have now minus King Kenny. Having to move the 'unwanted' ones and getting the right ones for the club. Will Hodgson still be able to form a side that will challenge on all front? Domestically speaking of course.
What kind of tactics that Roy will use? Having the players at his disposal. It's something debatable ... Having to see his signings last season. Poulsen, Joe Cole and Konchesky.
Even if these players went off to other clubs will Hodgson get the best from the likes of Suarez, Adam, Downing and Carroll?
I'd like to think if only John W Henry and Kenny came in earlier. We won't be seeing Joe Cole, Poulsen and Konchesky at all. Well Poulsen did however performed reasonably well under Kenny. Same goes for Cole.
Hodgson, besides his success in Denmark, he was never a success in the English league. He was the best manager 2 seasons ago after Fulham went all the way to 2nd tier of the European cup but that doesn't really warrant him to be a manager with a pedigree to be attached to a club like Liverpool FC.
Kenny is a winner! Even after he left Liverpool he won a league champions medal with Blacburn and finished 2nd with Newcastle.
He may not have the 'big star players' but he had a 'star squad'. Well, besides Shearer who was the best England striker the others was only 'good' for the club.
What if ...
Benitez never left. Will Liverpool finished 6th in the league last season. Again it's debatable. Benitez claims the lack of support (financially) from G&H made it difficult for him to built his dream squad. But Liverpool finished 1 place lower than what Kenny had achieved last season - with a poorer squad than what Benitez had.
Again track records will back Kenny on this.
And finally .. What if ...
What if Kenny never left Liverpool FC. This is a 'no-brainer' ... Manchester United and the other teams might still be chasing Liverpool FC. Enough said.
