LFC: Manchester United, Carroll and the future

kenny dalglish came back and his 1st task was to conjure something with a team that has been lacking in confidence. it was a fa cup tie against their bitter rivals, manchester united at old trafford. it didn't turn out pretty bad after all. liverpool lost 1 - 0 but there was so much positives that the fans can take from that particular match. they lost to a very early goal when the referee awarded man utd with a penalty. captain steven gerrard was later sent off. besides the score, man utd didn't really dominated that game.

and nearly 2 months after that liverpool and manchester united will lock their horns again for a league cruncher this sunday. it is yet to be seen who will play as liverpool are hampered with injuries and the same goes to united too. good news for liverpool as vidic will be suspended after he was given a red card on a match against chelsea. both teams will want to get into winning ways after losses to west ham and chelsea respectively.

news have been circulating that liverpool's recent signing andy carroll might get his first match against man utd. but kenny dalglish refuses to comment on any of the news .. yet.

there are also debates if carroll is fit, should he or shouldn't he play. it will be a massive league game. the pressure and the stakes are high. at the same time, united are having their own problems with vidic suspended, ferdinand is still injured and the other defenders are not as solid as those two mentioned. the same pressure will also get into who ever that will be pen-in by fergie.

if the cards are played well, carroll might make an instant impact. the presence of him alone will surely make united defenders to be on extra alert. this is where meireles, gerrard and suarez can take advantage. if enough pressure is pilled on the united defenders they will crumble as they are not as strong as vidic-ferdinand partnership.

there are still a couple of days till sunday and i'm pretty sure kenny will spring a few surprises.

obviously liverpool football club needs more players with caliber. aquilani's name has been popping up quite frequently lately. he is doing well this season for juventus and that tells us that he has really shrugged of that ankle injury he had last season. i do hope liverpool will at least keep him for another season and who knows he might be the missing link that lfc has been looking for all this while.

another player that came into my mind is emiliano insua. it is very obvious we don't have any quality or enough backup on the left side of defense. insua might not be the best yet, but he has got some experience. with the injury prone aurelio and very raw wilson dalglish had to switch johnson to the left which he hasn't done that bad either. the question is who will be played as a left-back if the team is struck with injuries or suspensions?

lets have our boys that are on loan back. with more players and options, i'm pretty sure liverpool will go back to where they belong. YNWA !!
